Acknowledgement of Country

The team at Macrozamia Environmental are privileged to be working on the lands of several traditional language groups in many areas of Australia. We travel to places few people see in the detail we do, places that Indigenous cultures have persisted for many thousands of years before us. We acknowledge the traditional owners of the lands, waterways and biodiversity they support and value the connection that the first ecologists had and continue to have with these landscapes long before Linnaeus, Darwin and their contemporaries derived the scientific framework in which we practice ecology today. At any site we work on, we consider the value that area played in the lives of Aboriginal people before European occupation. Where we can, we seek out the traditional names for places, flora and fauna we work with and we welcome opportunities to work with traditional custodians, Elders and others that can share traditional knowledge, playing our part to ensure the oldest living cultures are not lost.
